December 2024 - ISN Winter fête

Students at ISN held a TAF stand promoting our mission to the many guests during their annula winter fête. We thank the students for creating awareness about our campaigns and for rasing funds for TAF.

December 1st, 2024 - Challenge Prince Albert ll

Challenge Prince Albert II - European Coastal Regatta. An incredible day for ocean and sport lovers ! A big round of applause to the outstanding organizer, President Mathias Raymond of the Société Nautique de Monaco, along with his dedicated team and volunteers. Congratulations to our ambassador Adrian Miramon for securing victory for the third consecutive year! It was an honor to engage with His Serene Highness Prince Albert.

November 16th-24th, 2024 - EWWR

This year edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction will focus on tackling food waste. We have worked with our partners on the topic and a report will be published soon.

November 9th, 2024 - TAF nomination

It’s a tremendous honor to receive this nomination, and we sincerely thank the jury for selecting us. Years of hard work truly pay off, and we’re deeply grateful to all our volunteers, members, partners, sponsors, and supporters who stand with us. Together, we can create meaningful, lasting change to protect our ocean and its precious marine life. Heartfelt thanks to everyone!

November 4th, 2024 - School education in Oslo

A big thank you to IOS for hosting us and giving us the chance to discuss the significance of whales for humanity and the challenges they face during migration. We’re also very grateful to the supportive and highly valued teacher and the enthusiastic participation of the high school students.

November 4-11, 2024 - Norway 

Education and reseach into Norway's whale wachting industry which has become a huge industry with many operators. It’s disheartening to see restaurants in whale-watching destinations selling whale meat, while simultaneously promoting costly whale-watching tours.

October 11th, 2024 - Kick-A-Tonne

"Kick for the Whales" - An innovative TAF event with Karate world champion Christophe Pinna and TAF ambassador. The core principles of Karate and martial arts—discipline and respect—were values we aimed to impart to the children and schools that joined us. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the fun impactful karate session and were highly engaged with TAF’s educational quizzes, showing great enthusiasm for ocean protection. We extend our heartfelt thanks CHRISTOPHE PINNA and his assistant Lionel for their dedication and support. Thanks to the city of Nice, our incredible TAF volunteers, and our sponsor and partner 2PM Europe.

September 28th, 2024 - World Cleanup Day

In honor of World Cleanup Day, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined yesterday’s cleanup effort. A significant amount of rubbish was collected and sorted. Sincere thanks to Ville de Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Port de Plaisance à Beaulieu for their outstanding support, and to Restaurant Baia Bella for providing coffee and water. Special appreciation to Blue Coast for generously offering beers to the TAF ocean quiz winners, and to Breathe and ReBreathe for supplying underwater rubbish bags. Thanks to Fondation de la Mer for supporting our cleanup, and to our dedicated TAF team and volunteers.

September 25th, 2024 - Nice Climate summit

A big round of applause for the NICE Climate Summit, where remarkable speakers highlighted urgent ocean challenges and the need for immediate action. The International School of Nice and their talented students played an active role, with one student even showcasing a creative outfit made from plastic waste. Special thanks to Fondation de la Mer or their outstanding presentation and commitment.

September 18th, 2024 - Ocean Conference Oslo

A sincere thank you to all who attended our ocean conservation conference in Oslo. Special appreciation to Professor Alex Alcocer from OsloMet for highlighting the inner Oslofjord's critical issues and the role of scalable technology. Thanks also to Ross Brooks from Katapultocean for emphasizing the importance of investing in environmental protection startups. A big round of applause to Melanie Brooks for moderating the panel, and gratitude to both Melanie Brooks and Isabelle Thompson for their invaluable support.

June 26th, 2024 - Beer ocean event

A huge thank you to our partner, Blue Coast Brewery, for their collaboration. We're proud to be featured on their popular Blonde beer, a bestseller! We appreciate Blue Coast’s support at our event on Wednesday evening, where we enjoyed our fun ocean-beer quizzes. 🐋🐬 Three fantastic teams won boxes of delicious Blue Coast beers! 🍻 Thank you to all participants for joining us and making the event a success.

June 4th, 2024 - World Ocean Day celebration

We thank Ville de Nice for their collaboration and the great + 200 children as well as their professors for their remarkable engagement during our educational World Ocean Day! Bringing the wonders of whales and dolphins to classrooms! We educated 100 children about these magnificent creatures and how we can all contribute to their protection

Avril 16th, 2024 - Sustainable Fashion Show

EDHEC students organized a remarkable sustainable fashion show event, featuring eco-friendly clothing and screening a documentary on fast fashion, in collaboration with TAF and R4 Clothing.

Avril 12th, 2024 - Education

26 motivated CM1 students were educated about the challenges facing biodiversity, and solutions were presented to empower everyone to enact positive change.

Avril 11th, 2024 - School visit

We were pleased to collaborate with a dedicated teacher who had already primed the students and engaged them in ocean-related topics. It was an honor to contribute to their program and we extend our gratitude to them.

An additional 28 students received education on the significance of whales to humanity and learned strategies for protecting both these majestic creatures and ourselves.

March 20th, 2024 - TAF Conference, Monaco Ocean week

During Monaco Ocean Week, TAF had the privilege of hosting a conference addressing the decline in biodiversity and its profound implications for humanity. We extend our sincere gratitude to Monaco Ocean Week and the Prince Albert II Foundation for their exceptional organization of the event. A special acknowledgment goes to our esteemed speakers, Marianne Rasmussen, a marine biologist and professor at Iceland's university, and Daniel Kreizberg, for his compelling presentation of his award-winning film "Tahlequad," which left a lasting impression. We also express our heartfelt appreciation to Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline for gracing us with her presence.

March 19th, 2024 - Monaco Ocean week

Participation in a conference with Dr. Silvia Earle. A huge honor to connect with her and hear about the many HOPE SPOTS around the world. Personally, I resonated a lot with her line about people eating squid 🦑. As Silvia Earle said, people don't need to eat squid - they have the choice to eat something else but sperm whales have no other choice! It’s their food to survive!

March 14th, 2024 - IUM Conference

A big applause to the IUM students Lucie, Tati, Ilona, Maude, and Othelie for their impressive presentation about Over-Packaging and plastic pollution. They also did a great job finding sponsor for the buffet and making sustainable bags raising 250 euros to TAF. We thank them for their collaboration and top engagement making it a real succes engaging lots of students !

February, 2024 - Whale watching companies

Twice a year, whales migrate to Uvita for feeding and breeding purposes. Currently, there are no regulations in place for boating, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts in this regard.

February, 2024 - Collaboration with Whale watching companies

During the initial months, TAF collaborated with additional whale watching companies, emphasizing the need for guidelines and rules to safeguard the welfare of whales. We were pleased to witness their enthusiasm for learning about conservation, with some already taking proactive steps towards ocean protection.

December 5th, 2023 - Christmas celebration

After a year of extensive educational work and campaigns, we celebrated with our supporters, volunteers, members, advisers, and ambassadors at our annual Christmas party.

December 2-3rd, 2023- World costal rowing competition

We were honered for the 3rd year to be partner with Aviron Monaco/ Société nautique de Monaco for the world coastal rowing 🚣‍♀️ competition. A huge congrats to the winners and a welcome back next year ! Well done to President Mathias Raymond and the team for the excellent organisation!

November 18-26th, 2023 - EWWR

This year's theme for the European week of waste reduction (EWWR) was PACKAGING! There is a lot to be done worldwide. In collaboration with students worldwide, we showed various alternatives to packaging.

October 1st, 2023 - New Partner PETGREENS

TAF is thrilled to introduce its new partner, PET GREENS – an organic dog food crafted exclusively from natural ingredients. Pet Greens doesn't only prioritize well-being "in the bowl," but also has a strong commitment to the well-being of our planet.

September 23rd, 2023 - Stands at La Fête du Musée

Thank you to all who joined the Fête du Musée in Monaco. Lots of actives during the day for all age groups. TAF was proud to be among the participants hosting its educational stands .

September 21st, 2023 - School education

Education is what matters and a new school was introduced to our programs. We thank the children and teachers for active participation and for welcoming us!

September 16th, 2023 - World Clean Up Day

WORLD CLEANUP DAY ! An immense thanks for all TAF volunteers who joined us and picked up a huge amount of trash and got informed about the damaging effect of plastic waste. A total of 306 kilos were collected! Bravo to all participants 👏👏👏👏 and a big thank you to Blue Coast Brewing for your support and donation of sixpacks to the 3 biggest waste collectors!

June 21st, 2023 - TAF stand at Yoga event Monaco

A huge applause to the organizers Yoga Shala Monaco for this impressive event with great energy and optimism. 2 hours of pure flow of positive vibes with music and dancers. We were proud to be among the partners and thank Nathalie, Careen, Cathy and all the dedicated team behind for welcoming us. Ocean Seeds were giving out to increase the ocean vegetation . June 8th, 2023 - World Ocean Day

A huge thanks to the 12 School classes, more than 300 children and teachers who too part in our educational clean up. We thank the maison d’environment Nice, métropole côte d’azur and the département properte métropole for their super collaboration and help as always. Nothing could have been possible without our great volunteers who informed the children about the ocean, it’s marine life and what we all can do to preserve our planet . Thank you so much for always being ready to commit.

June 7th, 2023 - Ocean21 Conference

In the light of the WORLD OCEAN DAY, we hosted 3 events in two days starting with conference for lycée and environmental delegates in Nice in collaboration with Ocean21 . February 8th-21st, 2023 - Whale watching tour guide

TAF's founder was a volunteer tour guide and monitor on whale watching tours in the Domenica Republic for 2 weeks, and had the pleasure of adding TAF's knowledge about the importance of whales in our ecosystems and marine conservation.

January 28th - February 4th, 2023 - Silverbank

Beautiful encounters with humpback whales and an increased understanding of their behaviour during the mating and breeding season.

January 21-23, 2023 - Club Hemmingway D.R.

A great STEP forward ! In this hotel / club resort they have now stopped the use of plastic bottles which TAF found and commented on last year. We are extremely happy that also new initiatives will follow as they are much into a full ecological approach ! Thank you to the manager and team.

November 26th, 2022 -European waste reduction week

TAF hosted a stand together with many other entities in Monaco with great support from the environmental department and the Marie of Monaco. We thank our volunteers and the public who visited our stand about textile waste.

November 23rd, 2022 - European waste reduction week

During the European Week for Waste Reduction TAF hosted a stand in the carrefour center Monaco to inform about the danger of fast fashion and present alternative solutions made of organic cotton, hemp and bamboo.

September 12th to October 12th, 2022 - Art exhibition

We sincerely thank Helmut Koller and Kamil Art Gallery for their incredible contribution and the beautiful opening night of the exhibition “kollerism”! This exhibition was in support of TAF - The Animal Fund.

October 11th, 2022 - TAF presentation

TAF world cleanup day 2022 EZE France

September 17th, 2022 - World Clean-Up Day

A great success and turnout for the WORLD CLEAN-UP DAY 2022 where lots of rubbish was collected. TAF thanks the more than 130 participants who helped cleaning up the beach, streets, railways and harbor around EZE. We sincerely thank our partner Blue Coast Brewery, ville de EZE and diving club Fonds Bleus for their immense support cleaning up the ocean.

August 25th, 2022 - Uni Stand

Educational stand at university encouraging even more students to take part in the environmental issues TAF covers. We were thrilled to see the immense interest and thank the university SciencesPo for collaborating.

July 3rd, 2022 - Dolphins and whales encounter

An incredible morning out for dolphin and whale encounter. We saw a lot of dolphins and 3 fin whales. Needles to say how thrilled we all were and what a great trip it was. Next trip will be September 25th.

June 27th, 2022 - School education

The last class before the summer holidays was educated about the whales importance to humanity and our ecosystem. We thank the school and volunteers for their engagement.

June 19th, 2022 - 2nd edition WHALETHON - Swimming for the whales

A fun sport day, creating awareness of our majestic oxygen providers - the whales. This was our 2nd edition of TAF Whalethon. A huge thank you to all participants, our incredible volunteers and our ambassador Sophie Potel. An immense thank you to our partner Blue Coast for providing free beers for all. Blue Coast made a special edition based on strawberry for TAF for this particular event. We sincerely thank our partner R4 Clothing for creating special designed bamboo t-shirts for this event. June 9th, 2022 - Ocean Day celebration

175 children and many adults were gathered for TAFs' ocean day event with educational games and a clean up. We thank the many participants and our great volunteers.

November 28, 2021 - Stand in Monaco

During the international rowing competition in Monaco, TAF is hosted an educational stand presenting ocean protection and what we all can do to help. November 25, 2021 - Virtuel Conference

A great virtuel conference with highly important topics presented by our future generations. R4 clothing UK presented « Stop Fast Fashion » How they look at fast fashion, what it means to our planet and which alternatives there are. “ No space for waste” was presented by 3 university students. How they see our future and what they have done to reduce their waste.

September 18, 2021 - World Clean up Day

More than 130 Volunteers turned up and made this day memorable. An immense thank you to our partner Blue coast for offering beers to all . Thanks also to the divers from Fonds blue and Rand eau'evasion and to association Villefrance au cœur for their valuable contribution and partnerships . We also thank the mairie de Villefranche-sur-mer and Carl Henry who generously took his time to film.

September 12, 2021 - Dolphin trip

Dolphin communicational trip. A successful excursion to watch the beautiful marine life and learn how the dolphins and whales communicate. Animal communicator Joy Fromental and TAF members shared an unforgettable day on the water.

August 26th, 2021 - Presentation of TAF

TAF was honoured to have the opportunity of interacting with students from the Sciences Po Menton. At the campus, TAF presented its numerous objectives and goals, offering an insight into who we are. As always, we strongly believe in the importance of education, raising awareness over the many threats the ocean is facing.

For the second time this summer, TAF was happy to host “An alternative to plastic” stand in collaboration with la Communauté de la Riviera Française. During this event, TAF presented over 30 alternatives to daily plastic objects. TAF thank our super volunteers Anya and Valerie.

TAF hosted an "alternative to plastic” stand, in collaboration with Communauté de la Riviera Française. Educating the general public at the beach area in Menton, France how to live a more plastic-free life. TAF showed 30 alternatives to plastic which each of us use daily.

June 10th, 2021 - TAF Conference; How to live a plastic free life

March 24th, 2021 - “Upcycling: Turning Trash into Treasure”. Virtual event at Monaco Ocean Week

In explaining the logistics of the ‘waste hierarchy’ system, TAF – The Animal Fund and R4 Clothing (a new eco brand in London) informed the public about the complexities of waste management, especially that of plastic. Upcycling items were shown, made by students from Sciencespo, US upcycling expert Pamela Peterson and TAF members.

Clean bird nests got prepared for the migrating birds soon arriving in the Var. TAF thanks the more than 50 volunteers who joined us for our clean-up. We thank our partners, Natura 2000, and the many newcomers and supporters who participated!

TAF taught two classes of 25 students about the whales importance to us and how plastic pollutes the ocean and its marine life. Fish inadvertently consume it and tiny micro-plastics get into our own bodies if we eat the fish!

TAF hosted its first street clean in London, Portobello road and thank all the participants for their support and attendance. Our collaborator and our meeting point Zero waste shop “Liberté Chérie” was a great way to introduce plastic alternatives.

8 -12 December, 2019 – WMMC world marine mammals conference

TAF was pleased to be among the more than 2600 participants and to increase knowledge and to collaborate with like-minded people. Topics covering climate change, extinction, change of habitat, pollution, overfishing, population, polar ecology, health, anatomy, acoustics, communication, conservation and much more.

7th December, 2019 – Donation at Blue Coast Brewing

TAF was very honored to be chosen as the charity for the tombola hosted by beer company Blue Coast Brewing, talented wild life ocean photographer Greg Lecoeur, eco clothing company Woldshaper and Artis FABEN and we thank them all for their support and commitment to save the ocean. The funds will used to a common clean up project in 2020.

August 1st, 2019 – TAF educational stand in Nice

Education is essential! TAF held yesterday an educational stand in Nice, France where also UNICEF and Eau d’ azur were present. Our goal is to engage the public to use tap water and sustainable Eco bottles like TAF bottles instead of plastic bottles.

July, 2019 – TAF airline waste management campaign

TAF is interviewing all European airlines with aim to reduce their single use plastic. We have encouraged the airports to implement water fountains and end the selling of plastic bottles. The result of our campaign will be published later this year.

TAF held its first conference “How to live a Plastic free Live” in Cercle Munster, Luxembourg. There is an increasing interest from the government to implement alternatives and we were pleased to visit the zero waste shop Ouni where lots of packaging free items can be found.

TAF visited for the 4th time Ecoplaza Holland. More than 1421 plastic free products are now in store and their aim is still to replace all articles to plastic free packaging.

Research of Norway’s whaling industry and booming whale watching industry. Sad to experience that the northern population still consume whale meat and that a part of the government want to continue and even increase whaling. The whale watching industry is exploding and has no guidelines.

TAF visited several of the branches of NETTO supermarket in Fyn Dk which in April introduced deposit on plastic bags. What are the results until now? The effect so far is little, which is why TAF suggests a much higher price on the plastic bags or even better - a complete stop for plastic bags.

June 11-15th, 2018 – TAF stands at Monacology

TAF presented during 5 days at Monacology with its educational stands/games. More than 1500 children enjoyed and learned about how to replace plastic and the importance of recycling and reducing plastic.

Over 400 enthusiastic young students from all over the world were gathered to create awareness of the importance of our trees and what each individual can do to help.

It was very impressive to see the aisles and many products, almost 700 products, in non-plastic packaging. Ecoplaza will soon introduce all products free of plastic packaging in their other shops around Holland. A great example to follow for all other supermarkets in the world!
